Dog Killed, Elderly Man Injured After Car Hits Them: Police

The incident happened Monday in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK, IL — An elderly man was seriously injured and his dog killed after being hit by a car in Woodstock Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 2:10 p.m. Monday at North Jefferson Street and East Judd Street in Woodstock after a vehicle hit the man and the dog, according to a news release from the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.

Paramedics arrived and found the elderly man on the ground with serious injuries. He was taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
