Driver Cited In 7-Vehicle Rollover Crash On I-90
The collision happened on Interstate 90 near Marengo over the weekend.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A driver was cited for improperly passing on the shoulder of Interstate 90 near Marengo in a seven-vehicle rollover crash that injured several people over the weekend, police said Wednesday.
The collision happened at about 6:35 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 90 at milepost 35.5 near Marengo, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police. At least six people were taken to area hospitals for various injuries — none that were considered life-threatening, Illinois State Police trooper Genelle Jones told Patch in an email response Wednesday.
No updates were available on the medical condition of those who were injured, Jones said.

One driver received three citations, including tickets for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper passing on the shoulder. Authorities did not release the drivers name.
The collision lead to authorities shutting down I-90 for nearly two hours.
