Driver Faces DUI Charge Following Crystal Lake Collision
Three people were injured in the crash that happened Monday night.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A 60-year-old woman faces drunken driving charges for allegations she caused a crash that resulted in herself and two others being injured in Crystal Lake Monday night.
The collision happened at about 9:40 p.m. when a sports utility vehicle headed south on Huntley Road near Boneset Drive crossed into the northbound lane of traffic and collided head on with a sedan, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
The driver of the Jeep, who has been identified as Kathie Zaremba, 60, of Marengo, and two occupants in the sedan were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, authorities said.

Zaremba has since been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to call police at 815-356-3620 or send anonymous tips to the police department by texting CLPDTIP to 847411.
