HUNTLEY, IL — A Crystal Lake family welcomed the first baby born in the New Year at Northwestern Hospital on Monday morning.

Theodore Barnes was born at 11:35 a.m. on New Year's Day, according to officials with Northwestern Medicine. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21 inches.

Heather and John Barnes of Crystal Lake are Theodore's parents, and he was an older sister, Annabelle, who is 4 years old.
