Fire Completely Destroys Cary Home, Family Dog Remains Missing
The 3rd Avenue home's residents were not home at the time of the fire, which did an estimated $200,000 in damage and is under investigation.

CARY, IL — No one was injured in a house fire that destroyed a family’s home in Cary late Friday night, but fire officials said that the family’s dog remains missing after the blaze.
The fire was reported just before 10 p.m. on Friday in the 9400 block of 3rd Avenue and the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Crews arrived at the scene within five minutes of being called and were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes, fire officials said.
With limited fire hydrants in the area, fire crews used a coordinated effort to transport water to the scene, officials said. Once the fire was out, crews spent an additional two hours on the scene as the investigation into the fire began.

Fire officials said the house was occupied by four people, none of which were at home at the time of the fire. The house is considered a total loss with initial damage estimated at $200,000, Cary Fire Protection officials said.
As of Monday morning, the family dog remains missing, and the fire remains under investigation. Foul play is not suspected in the blaze.
