Gas Leak Causes Fire At Burdent Drive Business
Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department said damage from the fire is estimated to be $10,000.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department said fire crews responded to a report of a natural gas leak Thursday morning inside a business at 29 Burdent. According to the department, crews responded at 2:35 a.m., and upon arrival determined that gas supplying an industrial furnace had ignited inside the building. The fire then spread to materials stored near the furnace, but employees were able to evacuate the building, the department said.
According to the department, firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames, and damage was limited to the furnace and surrounding stored materials. Algonquin/Lake in the Hills and McHenry Township fire crews also responded to assist.
While damage is estimated to be $10,000, officials said none of the firefighters or business employees were injured.
