Gunshot Wound Caused Death Of Woman Found Near Corn Field: Coroner

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 27-year-old Wisconsin woman whose body was found near a cornfield in McHenry County last week died from a gunshot wound, McHenry County Coroner Michael Rein said.

Information on how Laurano Talo, of Walworth, Wisconsin, was fatally shot has not yet been released. The cause of her death has been determined to be from a gunshot wound, Rein said Wednesday.

Talo's body was found on June 17 near a corn field in the area of Route 14 and Hughes Road in unincorporated Woodstock, according to a news release from the fire/rescue district. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

This case continues to be investigated by the coroner’s office, the McHenry Count Sheriff’s Office and the Woodstock Fire/Rescue Department.
