Home Uninhabitable Following Laundry Room Blaze In Island Lake
The fire was reported in the 600 block of Carriage Hill Road in Island Lake on Sunday afternoon.
WAUCONDA, IL — Two residents have been displaced from their home in Wauconda after a fire left it uninhabitable over the weekend.
The Wauconda Fire District responded to the house fire in the 600 block of Carriage Hill Road at about 1 p.m. on Sunday. The blaze started in the laundry room of the two-story, single-family home, according to a news release from the Wauconda Fire District.
Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the attached garage of the home when they first arrived at the scene, according to the news release. The blaze was quickly extinguished.
