Juvenile Hospitalized After Fall From Bench At Aquatic Center

A juvenile was flown to the hospital with a serious head laceration after they fell off a bench onto a concrete floor at an aquatic center in Woodstock Monday afternoon.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded at 4:19 p.m. Monday to Woodstock Water Works, 1313 Kishwaukee Valley Road, for a report of a juvenile who fell from a bench onto the concrete floor. Paramedics arrived and found the juvenile with a serious head laceration, according to Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha.

Vucha said a Flight For Life medical helicopter was requested “out of an abundance of caution.”

The juvenile was airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment, Vucha added.

The fire district was not made aware of how the fall occurred.
