Kane Co. Forest Preserve Hosts Dragonfly Migration Event
The event will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on May 17 at the Pingree Grove Forest Preserve at 14N187 Route 20 in Pingree Grove.

KANE COUNTY, IL — The Kane County Forest Preserve will host a dragonfly migration event in May.
The event will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on May 17 at the Pingree Grove Forest Preserve at 14N187 Route 20 in Pingree Grove. Those stopping out will get to learn more about dragonflies who are part of the Family Odonata.
Dragonflies travel different distances as the seasons change, according to a news release from the forest preserve district. Those stopping out will also get to walk through a popular dragonfly habitat in search of early dragonfly arrivals in our region.

"From green darners to black saddlebags, there’s a whole world of dragonfly species out there waiting to be explored," according to a news release from the forest preserve district. "You’re sure to leave awe-inspired of these winged wonders."
