Labor Day Enforcement By Crystal Lake PD Yields 6 Arrests, 2 For DUI
The holiday weekend Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign led to an underage possession of alcohol arrest and a drug possession arrest.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Labor Day weekend crackdown on drunk driving by the Crystal Lake Police Department led to six arrests, including two for driving under the influence of alcohol, police announced on Friday.
The enforcement was part of a “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” campaign that ran over the recent holiday weekend. In addition to the two DUI arrests, Crystal Lake Police made four of arrests and issued citations for two speeding incidents in which police said the drivers were traveling at least 26 miles per hour over the speed limit. Another arrest was made for underage consumption of alcohol and another for illegal possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, police said in a news release.
Police also issued 12 citations for speeding, 10 for distracted driving violations, and one additional citation for a seatbelt violation.

Crystal Lake’s Police Department was among a collection of departments from around Illinois that participated in the enforcement campaign. The campaign was paid for with federal funds that are distributed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
