MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The office of a Crystal Lake doctor — whose medical license was revoked after he was convicted on a battery charge — has "temporarily closed."
Hiralal Maheshwari, who practiced at Midwest Endocrinology on Terra Cotta Road, entered into a negotiated plea of guilty to battery with physical contact, a Class A misdeameanor, in October and additional felony counts filed against Maheshwari, including a criminal sexual abuse charge, were dismissed.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation "permanently revoked" Maheshwari's license on Nov. 30 "due to conviction of criminal battery against a patient in the course of patient treatment," according to an online registry.
