'Lucky Store' In McHenry Co. Sells 2 Winning Lotto Tickets In 1 Month

MCHENRY, IL — A store in McHenry has sold two winning lottery tickets in the past month, including its most recent big winner, which is worth $3 million.

The winner of the $3 million prize has not yet stepped up to claim their winnings, according to the Illinois Lottery. Both tickets, including a $10,000 winning scratch-off ticket sold in September, were purchased from the Bull Valley Trio, 5301 Bull Valley Road in McHenry.

The $3 million prize was part of Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing. The ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn on Tuesday, which were 2, 18, 27, 34, 59.

“Just last month, we sold a $10,000 winning scratch-off ticket, and now this — a $3 million winner,” said Melissa Motroni of Bull Valley Trio. “I guess you can say we’re a lucky store. Everyone’s excited to see who the winner is."

For selling the winning ticket, Bull Valley Trio will receive a $30,000 bonus, which is 1% of the prize amount.

“We have no idea who the winner is yet, but we’re all hoping it’s one of our regulars,” Motroni said. “We’re looking forward to celebrating this amazing win with them.”
