Man, 38, Whose SUV Went Into Pond Died From Drowning: Coroner
The Lake County Coroner's Office identified the 38-year-old man as Joshua Klausing.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 38-year-old man who was killed when his sports utility vehicle went into a retention pond in Wauconda Wednesday morning.
Results from an autopsy show Joshua Klausing, of Wauconda, death was consistent with drowning as a result of a crash, according to a news release from the coroner's office. Authorities say Klausing's SUV hit a curb and then landed upside down in a pond near the northeast corner of Main Street and Garland Road at 10:24 a.m.
Rescue crews responded to the collision and were able to extricate Klausing within 10 minutes, police said. Klausing was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wauconda Police Department and Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County is investigating the collision.
