Man Accused Of Grooming, Sexually Abusing Child In McHenry

An arrest warrant has been issued for the man accused of meeting a child, who is under the age of 13 years old, online.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of sexually abusing a child he met online, court documents show.

Christopher A. Shrewsbury, 26, whose address is not available, is charged with indecent solicitation, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and grooming. A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Shrewsbury used an electronic device to solicit, lure or entice a child.

Shrewsbury is accused of asked to see the girl naked and to “touch and kiss” her “naked body parts.” Shrewsbury sexually abused the child, who is under the age of 13, in McHenry early in the morning on June 3, the complaint said.

The McHenry Police Department investigated the case and prosecutors approved the felony charges on Friday, court records show.

Shrewsbury is not in custody yet at the McHenry County Jail. An arrest warrant was issued and remains active.
