Man Arrested In Connection With October 2018 McHenry Burglaries
Henson faces several felony charges in the October 2018 burglaries, thefts and arson, according to police.
MCHENRY, IL — McHenry Police Department Chief John R. Birk announced Thursday the arrest of a 51-year-old man as a result of a six-month investigation into several burglaries, thefts and arson. Police said James R. Henson — listed as homeless with a last known address in the 4400 block of W. Bull Valley, McHenry — was taken into police custody Thursday by the McHenry Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit in connection to an Oct. 20, 2018 burglary in the 1300 block of Borden Street in McHenry.
Police said during the Oct. 20 incident, an enclosed trailer was unlawfully entered and a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette was "removed," and located on a property near the 4400 Block of Bull Valley Road, McHenry, on Oct. 24. However, police said the Corvette had been extensively damaged by fire.
According to police, a second burglary was reported on Oct. 26 near the intersection of Bode Lane and Cunat Drive in McHenry. During this incident, police said a construction trailer was unlawfully entered and several bundles of copper wire were taken. An E-Z GO Golf Cart was also taken, police said.

Probable cause was established as the result of an investigation into the incidents by the McHenry Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, to show that Henson was responsible, police said.
According to a release from the police department, Henson was charged with several felony offenses, including two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, one count of unlawful conversion of a motor vehicle, three counts of burglary, two counts of theft (over $500), and one count of arson.

Henson was booked at the McHenry Police Department and transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility in Woodstock, according to police.
