Man Critically Injured In Crash Near Marengo: Police

The crash happened Saturday morning.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 32-year-old Rockford man was injured following a single-vehicle crash near Marengo on Saturday.

Police responded to the crash on Route 176 west of Millstream Road at about 7:20 a.m. Saturday after a 2019 Ford Mustang headed west on Route 176 entered the eastbound lanes of traffic and then went off the road to the south and hit several trees, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office news release.

The driver of the Mustang was taken by ambulance to Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside in Rockford where he is listed in critical condition, police said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
