Man Flown To Hospital After Accidentally Shooting Himself: Police
The Cary Fire Protection District responded to the residence in the 10 to 15 block of Fawn Ridge Drive in Oakwood Hills at about 3:15 p.m.
CARY, IL — A man was flown to a hospital after accidentally shooting himself at a home in Oakwood Hills Saturday afternoon.
The Cary Fire Protection District responded to the residence in the 10 to 15 block of Fawn Ridge Drive in Oakwood Hills at about 3:15 p.m., according to a news release from the fire protection district.
The first police officer to arrive used a tourniquet to help control the bleeding from the wound "to a lower extremity," according to authorities. Paramedics arrived a short time later and continued to provide care.

A helicopter was called to the scene and took the man to Javon Bea Hospital—Riverside in Rockford, according to a news release.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by the Oakwood Hills Police Department.
