Man Flown To Hospital After Crash Near Crystal Lake

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 40-year-old Wonder Lake man was injured following a single-vehicle crash on Edgewood Road east of Bay Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake on Wednesday morning.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene of the collision at about 10 a.m. and found the driver inside the vehicle, according to a news release form the sheriff's office. The driver was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center and is being treated for minor injuries.

Authorities say the collision occurred when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was headed east on Edgewood Road east of Bay Road and went off the road, hitting several trees. The Silverado came to rest in a wooded area to the south of the roadway.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office's Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the crash and charges are expected to be filed, police said.
