Man Gets 8 Years For Possessing Cocaine In McHenry Co.
A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing over 50 grams of cocaine.

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing over 50 grams of cocaine in McHenry County.
Cesar E. Fournier, 25, of the 100 block of Cornwell Circle Southeast in Poplar Grove, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony, in front of McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a car driven by Fournier on September 27, 2018. Sheriff’s deputies located approximately 56 grams of cocaine in Fournier’s possession, prosecutors said.
In exchange for Fournier’s guilty plea, prosecutors dropped a Class X felony charge of unlawful possession of cocaine between 15-100 grams with the intent to deliver.
Fournier has to pay $2,390 in court costs in addition to his eight year prison sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The investigation was conducted by Deputy Bruketta of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Brette Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
