Man Gets Prison Time For Sexually Assaulting Child

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 59-year-old McHenry man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.

Gerald L. Dominick Jr. appeared for a sentencing hearing Monday in McHenry County Circuit Court. He pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault.

An investigation into Dominick was launched in June 2021 after a person under the age of 13 years old told a relative she'd been sexually assaulted by Dominick. The family member later confronted Dominick, and he admitted to the assault.

Dominick will be required to serve 85 percent of his 10-year prison sentence and must also register as a sex offender for life after his release.
