Man Sells Large Amount Of Marijuana To Undercover Agents: Authorities

A 30-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly sold a large amount of marijuana to undercover agents in McHenry County, state police said.

Jesus J. Nunez-Garcia, 30, of the 1100 block of Ridgeway Avenue in Aurora, was charged with two counts of manufacturing or delivering cannabis, Class 1 and 3 felonies. A spokesperson for the Illinois State Police said officers with the Illinois State Police North Central Narcotics Task Force conducted an undercover narcotics operation.

Nunez-Garcia was the subject of the operation and he sold narcotics to an undercover agent on multiple occasions, the spokesperson said.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Nunez-Garcia sold 30-500 grams of cannabis to an undercover agent on May 10.

The man also sold 2,000-5,000 grams of cannabis to the agent last Tuesday, the complaint said.

Investigators arrested Nunez-Garcia following the completion of the second deal, state police said.

McHenry County Judge Tiffany Davis initially set bond at $100,000, court records show.

McHenry County Judge David Gervais later reduced Nunez-Garcia’s bond to $40,000 on Friday.

The man remains held in the McHenry County Jail and would need to post $4,000 cash in order to be released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15.
