Man Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison For Possessing Cocaine

A 31-year-old Marengo man found in possession of seven grams of cocaine was sentenced to six years in prison.

Theodore L. King, 31, of Marengo, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony, before McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office executed an arrest warrant at a residence in Marengo on April 23, 2019. King was at the home and officers saw him throw a bag of narcotics out of a window of the residence, prosecutors said.

Officers recovered the narcotics and later determined that it was approximately 7.16 grams of cocaine, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors dropped numerous other charges against King, including resisting a peace officer, aggravated battery to a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and more.
The case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Brette Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
