Man Sentenced For Heroin Delivery In 2017 McHenry Man's Death

Patrick Milton delivered heroin to a woman on or about Aug. 30, 2017, who then delivered heroin to a man, resulting in the man's death.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announced Monday that 30-year-old Patrick Milton was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) for one count of felony unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. According to the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office, Milton delivered heroin to Jessica Chapman on or about Aug. 30, 2017, who then delivered heroin to another, resulting in that person's death.

Chapman was charged in November 2017 with drug-induced homicide and delivery of a controlled substance in the death of Michael Roach, a 28-year-old McHenry man, who overdosed on heroin and other opiates Aug. 31.

The case was investigated by members of the McHenry Police Department, and was prosecuted by Michael Combs and Kyle Bruett of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, according to a release.
