Man Who Called Officers 'Parasites' During 5th DUI Stop Convicted
Paul C. Altmann was found guilty during a jury trial last week in McHenry County.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Wisconsin man who drove drunk through Richmond in May 2022 and called officers who pulled him over "parasites wreaking havoc on personal rights" has been convicted of his fifth driving while under the influence charge.
The jury in McHenry County found Paul C. Altmann, of Genoa City, Wisconsin, guilty of a driving while under the influence of alcohol charge.
Altmann was pulled over at about 12:45 a.m. on May 2, 2022, by an officer with the Richmond Police Department after witnessing a vehicle speeding through town. Altmann was arrested for drunken driving and backseat squad video shows Altmann telling officers that they are parasites wreaking havoc on personal rights, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.

Altmann had been convicted of four other driving while under the influence violations prior to his May 2022 arrest, police said.
He could now face between 4 and 15 years in prison and will be sentenced on May 30.
