Families can stop out to the free event on March 5 or 6 in St. Charles.
ST. CHARLES, IL — Local residents can stop out to Creek Bend Nature Center next weekend to take part in the Forest Preserve District of Kane County's Maple Sugaring Days.
The event will run from 12 to 3 p.m. on March 5 and 6 at Creek Bend Nature Center, which is located at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserves, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
Forest Preserve naturalists will show how to tap a maple tree, and you’ll have the opportunity to try drilling and setting a tap before the sap is simmered over an open fire and thickens to syrup.
