Marengo Man Charged In Sexual Assault Of Sleeping Woman: Sheriff

According to report, McHenry County Judge granted the woman's no-contact order against the man the day after the reported assault.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 44-year-old man accused of sexual assault is being held in the McHenry County Jail on a charge of criminal sexual assault after being arrested Feb. 8, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. The Northwest Herald, Fredrick W. Ahlmann II, of the 300 block of Tioga Trail, Marengo, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her sleep following a Feb. 5 birthday party at The Spot in Marengo, according to a petition for a no-contact order filed in McHenry County court.

The Northwest Herald said according to the petition written by the woman, she, Alhmann and others left the bar and went to a Marengo home later that night, where they continued drinking and talking, until "things got hazy" after 3 a.m. According to her petition, the woman woke up in her bedroom to Ahlmann sexually assaulting her, and wasn't sure how she got there.

The Northwest Herald said the next day, a McHenry County Judge granted the woman's no-contact order against Ahlmann, according to court records.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, Ahlmann’s next court appearance is scheduled for the morning of Feb. 22.
