McCullom Lake Veteran Getting New Roof By D-Wing Construction
The new roof installation is part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment project, which gives back to U.S. military veterans.
MCCULLOM LAKE, IL — A U.S. Marine Corps veteran living in McCullum Lake will have a new roof installed Monday by D-Wing Construction as part of Owens Corning's nationwide effort to thank and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Owens Corning Platinum Contractors are working with Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County to provide new roofs to veterans in need and their families as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, including Vietnam War veteran Marty Lenzen, who is a former volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, according to a new release sent to Patch.
The Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project was established in 2016, and in just a few years more than 140 military members have received new roofs, the release said.
Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, along with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families throughout the U.S. Through the partnership with Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, Marty Lenzen was selected and approved as the recipient for this roof replacement, according to the release.
