McHenry County Deputy Disciplined For Parking In Disabled Spot
According to the sheriff's office, the deputy received internal discipline as a result of the investigation.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A McHenry County sheriff's deputy has been ordered to attend sensitivity training and received a parking ticket for parking a marked sheriff's squad car in a parking space reserved for people with disabilities Saturday, according to the sheriff's office.
On Monday evening, the sheriff's office said in a statement that they were made aware of through social media of photos of a marked squad car outside a Chipotle restaurant, and conducted an internal investigation on the incident. According to the sheriff's office, the deputy received internal discipline as a result of the investigation.
The sheriff’s office called the deputy's behavior unacceptable, and said it's against their policy and procedures unless responding to a call.

"The Sheriff's Office expects all of its employees to comply with the same laws and statutes as the public," the statement said. "The Sheriff’s Office continues to faithfully serve the community, promoting the safety and protection for all."
