McHenry County Government: County Board Seeking Applications For MCCD Trustee Vacancies

WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The McHenry County Board is accepting applications for two vacancies on the McHenry County Conservation District Board of Trustees.

Volunteer trustees for the McHenry County Conservation District (MCCD) establish the policy and direction for the District which owns or manages 25,623 acres of open space and provides wildlife habitat preservation, educational opportunities, and recreational amenities for residents of McHenry County.

The first vacancy’s term will begin immediately upon confirmation by the McHenry County Board, and the second shall begin on July 1, 2022. Both terms shall run through June 30, 2027.

Applicants must reside in McHenry County, be a registered voter, and demonstrate an interest in the District or the conservation of natural resources. Appointees may not hold any political office or be officers of a political party. Appointees will also be selected to ensure that McHenry County’s geographic locations are represented to the greatest extent possible.

Applications will be accepted through March 22 on the County’s online appointment portal, which can be found by clicking here. Applicants may also obtain paper applications by downloading the form from the application portal or visiting the County Board Office, Room 209, McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock. McHenry County recommends that paper applications be sent through certified or registered mail.

One of the MCCD Board vacancies occurred due to Carolyn Campbell’s appointment to the McHenry County Board earlier this February.
