FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that on March 3, 2022, 29-year-old Heather Vasil of Algonquin, Illinois, pled guilty to Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a class 2 felony, before the Honorable Judge Robert A. Wilbrandt.

This case centered around the overdose death of a 48-year-old victim who was found unresponsive on June 4, 2020 after ingesting illegal narcotics. An investigation into the death by the Northcentral Narcotics Task Force revealed that Vasil had given the decedent illegal narcotics, which he subsequently took, causing him to overdose.

Vasil was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The investigation was led by Inspector John Palmer and was prosecuted by Ken Hudson and Brett Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
