On June 18, 2021, deputies of the McHenry County Narcotics Task Force stopped a vehicle they had reasonable suspicion to be involved in drug-related activities. Upon inspection, Gomes, a passenger in the vehicle, was discovered to have on his person eleven separate baggies – with a total weight of 6.7 grams - of a white substance that positively tested for the presence of cocaine.
This case was investigated by the McHenry County Narcotics Task Force of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Ashley Romito and Ashur Y. Youash.
