On January 17, 2021, while on routine patrol, officers of the Harvard Police Department observed numerous lane violations committed by a vehicle. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the driver was determined to be Garcia. Physical observations led officers to ask Garcia to perform standard field sobriety tests. Based on their observations and Garcia’s performance on the field sobriety tests, Garcia was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. This was the ninth time Garcia has been convicted of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and he was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections at the time of the commission of this offense.

This case was investigated by Officer Todd Oczus of the Harvard Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Ashur Y. Youash.
