According to fire officials, the Northwest Herald reported a second man aboard the boat wasn't injured.

MCCULLOM LAKE, IL — A McHenry man was taken to an area hospital Tuesday for hypothermia after fire officials said a boat with two people aboard sank on McCullom Lake, according to Northwest Herald. The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was called to the lake just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 4800 block of West Shore Drive, where a boat holding the 33-year-old McHenry man and a 28-year-old man from Twin Lakes, Wisconsin sank about 125 yards from shore, the news source reported. The Wisconsin man wasn't injured, but thanks to help from residents who lived near the lake fire crews were able to reach and rescue both passengers, the Northwest Herald reported.
