McHenry Man Killed In Arlington Heights Crash

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A 19-year-old motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle collision in Arlington Heights Tuesday afternoon.

On Wednesday afternoon, authorities identified the motorcyclist as Jack Fuchs, 19, of McHenry.

The collision happened at about 3:50 p.m. when a 2005 Kawasaki Concours was headed east on Lake Cook Road, and approaching Wilke Road, when a 2014 Toyota Rav4 began to make a left turn onto Wilke Road from westbound Lake Cook Road, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.

When the Toyota entered the eastbound lanes of Lake Cook Road, the motorcyclist tried to avoid a collision and the motorcycle slid and the driver hit the rear passenger side of the Toyota, according to police.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, police said.

He was taken to Northwest Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No citations have been issues in the collision, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
