Motorcyclist Flown To Hospital After Crash Near Crystal Lake
The collision happened at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday at Crystal Springs Road and Cherry Valley Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake.
A motorcyclist was flown to the hospital by a LifeNet helicopter after losing control and crashing off the roadway near Crystal Lake Sunday evening.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 5:15 p.m. Sunday to Crystal Springs Road and Cherry Valley Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake.

Firefighters arrived to find a motorcycle crash off the roadway.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Communication Specialist Emily Matusek said the driver was attempting to navigate the curve in the roadway.

The motorcyclist did not reduce speed enough while traveling along the curve and crashed, Matusek said.
Paramedics reported over the radio that the victim suffered traumatic injuries.
An ambulance transported the motorcyclist to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry.
The LifeNet helicopter that is based at the hospital then flew the victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The victim’s condition was not known but Matusek said the injuries were not life-threatening.
Matusek said additional information on the incident was not immediately available.
