Multi-Family Home Uninhabitable After Blaze In Crystal Lake
The fire broke out Monday night at the two-story building in Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A two-story multi-family residence in Crystal Lake is uninhabitable following a blaze Tuesday night.
The fire was reported at about 11:50 p.m. at 244 2nd Street, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Department. Firefighters first at the scene reported heavy fire conditions throughout the two-story building, according to fire officials.
There were eight people inside the home at the time of the fire, who were all able to get out of the residence and were not injured, according to the news release.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control within an hour. The multi-family home sustained heavy fire damage, a partial collapse and is not habitable, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
