New Grocery Store Opens Along Route 14, Another Coming Soon

La Rosita Fresh Market opened in recent weeks and KD Market is planning to open later this year.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — One new grocery store has opened off the Route 14 corridor and another is coming soon, city officials said.

La Rosita Fresh Market opened in recent weeks in the same strip mall as Savers, Heather Maieritsch, economic development manager for the city of Crystal Lake, told Patch. The grocery store, located at 230 W. Virginia Street, specializes in fine meats, produce and Mexican food.

The new store is about 40,000-square-feet, which is five times bigger than its original store downtown Crystal Lake. Co-owner Jose Perez told the Daily Herald the location downtown Crystal Lake will remain open but has been operating under new owners since earlier in the year.
