Norge Ski Jumpers Soar Into 1st Round In Beijing

But none of the three local ski jumpers made it past that round.

FOX RIVER GROVE, IL — Three ski jumpers who train at Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove. qualified for the first round of the men's normal hill over the weekend at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Casey Larson of Barrington placed 41st place in the qualifying round of the normal hill competition Saturday.

Kevin Bickner of Wauconda placed 43rd during the qualifying round and Patrick Gasienica finished in 44th place.
The top 50 jumpers, including the three local jumpers, qualified for the first round.

During the first round, Larson came the closest to advancing to the finals, placing 39th. The top 30 ski jumpers In Beijing qualified for the final round.

Bickner placed 43rd in the first round of the normal hill competition and Gasienca finished in 49th place.

There are still more chances to catch the local ski jumpers in action with more events scheduled for this week in Beijing.

Large hill trial and qualification rounds will be on Friday with more large hill qualifying rounds set for Saturday. The top three ski jumpers for the large hill will take the medal stand Saturday night in Beijing.
