Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Train In Woodstock
Metra officials confirmed that inbound train #726, which departed Harvard at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, struck the pedestrian.
Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metra train Saturday evening in Woodstock, officials said.
The Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 5:57 p.m. Saturday to Railroad Street and Short Street.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Spokesman Alex Vucha said authorities received a call for a pedestrian struck by an inbound Metra commuter train.
Firefighters and paramedics quickly located a male subject east of the crossing along the tracks.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics, Vucha said.

Extensive delays were reported on the Union Pacific Northwest Line after inbound and outbound train movement was halted, Metra said.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office is in the process of scheduling an autopsy.

The Woodstock Police Department and Metra Police Department are investigating the incident.
