Plane Crashes Into Building In McHenry County
No one was injured when the single-engine plane collided with a building in Harvard Wednesday afternoon.

HARVARD, IL — No one was injured when a plane crashed into a building in Harvard Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The Harvard Fire Protection District was called to Dacy Airport, in the 22200 block of Airport Road, at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday and found the single-engine airplane near the rear of the property, according to a news release from the fire protection district.
The plane crashed into a hangar, which was used to store various equipment and aircraft, Alex Vucha, public information officer for the Harvard Fire Protection District, told Patch.

The airplane was positioned down and leaking fuel. The pilot, a man, was able to get himself out of the plane on his own before emergency crews arrived at the scene.
He was not injured in the incident, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
