Authorities Probe Death Of Woman Found With Gunshot Wound Near Cornfield

Laurena Talo, 27, died from a gunshot wound on June 17, but it's unclear what the circumstances are that lead to her death.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Authorities in McHenry County are investigating the death of a young woman whose body was found near a cornfield earlier this month.

Authorities have determined Laurena Talo, 27, of Walworth, Wisconsin, died from a gunshot wound, according to the McHenry County Coroner's Office, who released her cause of death this past week. But they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding what caused her death, McHenry County Coroner Michael Rein said on Thursday.

Authorities told the Northwest Herald Thursday they do not believe foul play was involved in Talo's death.
