Police Seek Help Identifying Thieves Who Threatened Bicyclist With Knife, Stole His Bike: Police
The incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Pathway Court in Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Police in Crystal Lake are asking for the public's help as they try to track down two men accused of pulling a knife on a bicyclist Wednesday evening and stealing his bike, police said.
The incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Pathway Court in Crystal Lake when the two suspects approached a 50-year-old man and demanded he hand over his bike, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
After he initially refused to give it to them, one of the men, who was described as being Hispanic with jet black hair that was "slicked back," displayed a knife. The other man then gave him his bike and the two suspects then fled the area, police said.

The bike is described as being red mountain bike. The suspects are described as being a white man in his 30s who is about 5-feet, 11 inches talk and weighing between 135 and 140 pounds. He has short curly blond hair and was wearing a longe-sleeved Nike-bran athletic shirt and blue jeans.
The other suspect is described as being a Hispanic man in his 30s who is about 5-feet, 4-inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds with black hair that was "slicked back. He was wearing. gray hoody-style sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The value of the stolen bike is estimated to be about $200.
The Crystal Lake Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to call police at 815-356-3620. In addition, anyone with a cell phone can send an anonymous tip to the Crystal Lake Police Department by texting the word CLPDTIP along with the tip information to 847411 (tip411).
