McHenry County Sheriff's Office to host a presentation on current scams for seniors and caregivers.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with Senior Services to present information on current scams now surfacing in McHenry County. The presentation will begin at 10 a.m., March 11 at the McHenry Township Senior

Services offices in Johnsburg, 3703 N Richmond Road.

This presentation will focus on Tax scams and give information on:

  • what to do if you become a victim.

After a short presentation, attendees will be able to meet in small groups with Deputies and

recently received mail that they think might be a scam. This will be your chance to ask the

experts and learn more, helping to prevent you from becoming a victim. All documents will

then be properly shredded.

This presentation is designed to provide helpful information for all McHenry County

residents. Those who are caregivers to a senior or are seniors themselves are especially

encouraged to participate, because too often seniors are the targeted victims.
