Rain Reveals Poetry in Downtown Crystal Lake
A few droplets is all it took to reveal 25 hidden poems in downtown Crystal Lake.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - While everyone knows April showers bring May flowers, it is not often we find ourselves wishing for more rain.
But Crystal Lake residents were crossing their fingers last week for sprinkles to reveal the 25 hidden poems painted on the sidewalks throughout downtown Crystal Lake in honor of National Poetry Month. And their prayers were answered.
"A special thanks to Ms. Strebel’s seventh grade class at Bernotas Middle School who created original poetry about local businesses and used special paint only visible when it rains to paint the various poems and works of art onto sidewalks throughout the City!" a community alert said. "The poetry will be visible when wet and on display for approximately the next six weeks. Enjoy the hunt to try and find them all!"
