Retail Theft 'Blitz' Leads To 6 Arrests In Woodstock
The Woodstock Police Department and Spring Grove Police Department participated in the National Organized Retail Crime Blitz.
WOODSTOCK, IL — Six people were arrested following a retail theft enforcement initiative in Woodstock.
The Woodstock Police Department and Spring Grove Police Department participated in the National Organized Retail Crime Blitz on May 29 and 30.
The blitz is a nationwide initiative that has a goal of disrupting and dismantling local organized retail crime networks by coordinating focused enforcement operations across the country, according to a news release from the police department.

During the blitz, six people were arrested and charged with 14 different total crimes. Charges filed include:
- Five felonies, included one theft (over $500), one retail theft (with prior convictions), one burglary and two possession of a controlled substance
- Seven misdemeanors, including four retail theft, two possession of drug paraphernalia and one possessing a theft detection device remover
- Two traffic citations were also issued for operating a vehicle with suspended registration and no insurance
Police worked with multiple local retail establishments, including Jewel-Osco, Walgreens, Farms & Fleet, Walmart, Menards and Kohl's.
