Richmond Shooting Victim Died Of Gunshot Wound In Face: Coroner

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Coroner's Office announced Tuesday an 18-year-old Harvard man killed during a May 15 incident in Richmond died as a result of a gunshot wound to the face. According to a release, Dylan E. Sanchez was found dead by members of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office at a residence in Richmond, in addition to authorities finding another male in the residence, who they took into custody and brought to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The coroner's office said an autopsy was performed on Sanchez on May 17.

John Maki Jr., 47, of Spring Grove, is charged with first-degree murder in the case.

McHenry County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the 1100 block of Serenity Drive to assist the fire department at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release. When they arrived, they found Maki Jr. and the man who had been fatally shot inside the home.
