Should Park District Police Remain?: Officials To Vote This Week
The Crystal Lake Park District Board is set to vote on the measure Thursday.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Park District board is expected to vote this week on whether the park district department should be kept or nixed.
Talks over whether the 100-year-old police agency should be disbanded have been in the works for months.
Reasons for disbanding the park district police department include saving resources and money since a lot of the park police department's responsibilities overlap with the city of Crystal Lake police duties, Shaw Local News Network is reporting.
