Snowfall Totals: 6.5 Inches So Far In Suburbs
Portions of northern Illinois have seen more than 8 inches of snow while 6.5 inches of snow has been recorded in Woodstock.
CHICAGO AREA, IL — A spring snowstorm has dumped several inches of snow on communities across northern Illinois, including a total of 6.5 inches in one suburban city.
The Rockford area recorded the highest snowfall totals in the Chicago as of early Friday afternoon, with some towns seeing more than eight inches of snow. In the Chicago area, Woodstock recorded 6.5 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter storm warning is currently in effect for McHenry, Winnebago and Boone counties and will remain in effect through 4 p.m.

As part of the winter storm, snowfall totals in excess of 6 inches are expected, but as of 2:30 p.m. several towns have surpassed that amount, weather officials said.

- Wonder Lake, 5.5 inches as of 1:30 p.m.
- Johnsburg, 5 inches as of 10:20 a.m.
- Lake Villa, 5 inches as of 10:09 a.m.
- Harvard, 5 inches as of 12:03 p.m.
- Gurnee, 4 inches as of 12:44 p.m.
