MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — As several area Memorial Day ceremonies and parades have been cancelled across McHenry County, many are left wondering if annual summer events and holiday festivities will be cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Crystal Lake:
- 41st Annual Lakeside Festival: Postponed — 2020 Lakeside Festival Postponed: Board Of Directors
- Crystal Lake Farmers Market: Opening June 6 — According to a recent Facebook update, the farmers market will open for the season on Saturday, June 6. It will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Depot Park, located at 70 E. Woodstock Street in Crystal Lake.

- Huntley Farmers Market: Opening May 23 — According to the market's Facebook page, it will open for the season Saturday, May 23, and will run from 8 a.m. t0 1 p.m. each Saturday during the summer on Coral Street, Church Street and the Town Square. "Due to the regulations set forth in Governor Pritzker's Executive Order, face masks must be worn in the market area," a statement on the Facebook page reads. - Fiesta Days: Postponed or cancelled — McHenry's Fiesta Days will not take place July 9 through 19, and there are plans in the works to move Arts and Crafts in the Park to September with "some modifications," organizers said. More information on other Fiesta Days-related events, such as Cask and Barrel night, can be found at mchenryfiestadays.com. "We are working out details and need to wait for the Phase 3 information from the Illinois Dept. of Health in order to confirm," organizers said in a Facebook page statement. "Thank you all for your patience!"
- Pedal, Paddle, Saddle at Glacial Park in Ringwood: Postponed — "In light of the current situation with Covid-19, Pedal, Paddle, Saddle 2020 has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2020," according to the event's page on the McHenry County Conservation Foundation's website. Registration for this event will reopen in July. >> Updates
- Spring Grove's 4th of July festivities: Still on — Spring Grove's 4th of July festivities planned for Saturday, July 4 will be held on Main Street this year instead of Horse Fair Park, featuring Bella Cain as this year's entertainer. The parade kicks off at 12 p.m. Festivities will continue throughout the day and then fireworks begin at dusk. Those interested in volunteering should email: sg4thofjuly@gmail.com. "We understand we are in a time of great uncertainty," organizers said on the event website. The Spring Grove 4th of July Committee is committed to providing a wonderful, community experience as we always have. We are constantly re-evaluating the situation and will provide updates as matters evolve. Until then we are hopeful to see everyone on Independence Day!"
